I d/l the roms from mame.dk, but i cant get it to work. the files are named differently. do i need different roms for u64 emu? or do i just re-name the ones i have.

Turns out the CHD file on mame.dk is corrupt. Anyone know somewhere else I can get it?

Use the HDComp.exe in mame zip to convert the .chd to .img

Can someone give me step by step instructions on how to run killer instinct 1 & 2 on the u64 emu or mame emu? I downloaded the files but I get a failed message on u64 emu and a missing file message (CHD) on mame emu.

Here is how it works with mame(but mame runs KI2 not correct)
-first of all you need the following files for mame.
(kinst.chd,kinst.roms)
-Install mame 0.72 on your PC.
-place the kinst.roms*zipped* in the rom folder of the emu(do not extract the roms)
-now make a subfolder in the mame rom folder and name it kinst.
-place the kinst.chd in this subfolder.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
and here how it works with U64emu:
-first you need this files(KI2.IMG,KI2 roms)the chd files
don't work with U64emu.
-install U64emu 302 or 305 on your PC.
-open the option gameset of the U64emu.
-use the browse buttons and browse the folders in which you have the files.
-fill all fields up(u98main,u10-u36samples and KI.IMG)
-use the maincode KI2-l11u98.
-after you have cofigure the gameoptions(settings,input configure etc...)
-hit run,but before make sure you have unchecked the
read only properties of the KI.IMG(right mouseclick on
the KI.IMG and uncheck the box)
-now it runs.lol

PS:Don'T play KI2 with mame(mame is crap)
to many Gfx and Soundbugs)
Use u64emu for KI2 because this is the only emu without major bugs. ;D

mame.dk or retroroms.official-website.net and lots of other sites have the chd files.But you must register to download the files. You can also convert the chd to image like DML wrote above. But if you have the KI images don't use mame. U64 emu is much better. ;D |

it's not corrupt. Get the latest version of winrar and it will work fine, I promise you.

Hi this is for killer instinc, Ive done the steps with the mame emulator but it shows that its missing the chd file when iI already have it, but the chd file is zipped. do I have to extract the chd file that is zipped and if I do how will I go about doing it. Thanks  |

Yes,you must unzip the chd file. Use winrar it should be work as far as your chd file is not corrupt. If you cannot unzip it use the newest version of winrar. But do yourself a favour and play ki with the u64emu,it's much better. The only good thing on mame is the netplay client. But that's all. ;D |

Does anybody know where to get the ki.img ive tried the website recomended by rcp but the ki.img file is zipped and corrupt, by the way what is the latest version of winrar Thanks.  |

i cant get it to work either.. every time i load it, it goes to a blue screen then just sits there till i close it. the readme says the Kinst.dat file should be 512kb when it's done, but mine is 1MB. ??
i dont understand what i'm doing wrong. maybe this emu is not compatible with my machine?
amd athlon 1.4ghz, 512MB DDR (266FSB), radeon 9800 pro, 120 gig 7200rpm HD
